Abortion Statistics
We don’t talk much about this.
The Soviet Union was the first country to legalize abortion in 1920.
It was followed by Catalonia in 1938, then China in 1957, Cuba in 1965, and Denmark in 1973.
By the early 2000s, most Western countries had abortion rights and this has kept on progressing around the world, with a few exceptions.
The following infographics show the results of surveys carried out to determine the cause for seeking an abortion.
This graph shows that 96% of women who had an abortion were not in danger, and neither was the baby.
This graph shows that 22% of the cases of abortion were related to health issues, either from the fetus or the mother, which makes a total 78% of abortions carried without a significant health reason.
