An Article I Wrote Went Viral for Two Days Then My Views Collapsed By 95%
What’s happening?
In mid-July 2025, I published this article that went very viral very quickly.
Then the views collapsed after two days of virality.
If you’ve gone viral, you know that it lasts at least a week, and it doesn’t collapse so quickly but rather slowly comes back down.
This one didn’t. It just died after two days.
Initially, this gave my other articles a boost.
But now my views have completely died out despite that I kept the pace of publishing.
I don’t know what happened, but it’s difficult to imagine that my article was only viral for two days because of the algorithm and not because of an external intervention.
The article in question was clearly engineered for virality. My best guess is that it “hacked” the algorithm and when someone realized it, they simply killed it.
In any way, this is very annoying and disappointing.
And to be honest, I have the feeling it was the intended purpose.
