Bitcoin Investors Finally Admit the Only Reason to Buy Bitcoin — and It’s Funny
Or not.
If you know an asset’s value is going to go up or down, you place your bet and don’t tell anyone.
This is true for all types of investment across all asset classes, except one.
Bitcoin, and broadly, cryptocurrencies, is the only asset class whose investors tirelessly work at convincing others to invest in it.
There are two reasons for that.
Firstly, every other asset class has an underlying function (other than being a pure investment product) that creates natural demand.
Real estate houses people and companies, stocks are essentially businesses, bonds are a debt someone needs to repay, land is space, and gold and silver are used in electronic manufacturing and jewelry making.
Even in the unconventional asset world, a car can be driven, wine can be drunk, a sculpture can be looked at, a watch tells you time (and impresses your friends), and a 2009 iPhone can be used to call, or placed into a museum.
