My Experience Building a Business in the EU and Why Its Economy Is Collapsing
Telling it like it is.

As I am writing these lines, I am selling food illegally online.
Illegally means that I do not respect the regulations in place because I don’t have the financial means to do so.
- I did not register my business to the equivalent of the FDA (for which you have to pay).
- I did not solicit the visit of an investigator who would see that my repackaging operation complies with rules and regulations because you have to pay and it does not anyway since I am running this sh!tshow from my €600 15m2 student bedroom.
- I am selling with the “organic” sign because my product is indeed biological but I am not certified and hence don’t have the right to show it because you have to pay, not once, but yearly, and you have to comply with the regulations, and I don’t have the financial means to do that either.
I began selling my food on Shopify but faced with the shipping fee of €8 per order, I quickly figured out I was losing money, especially since what I sell costs as much as shipping (€8, to be specific).
So the fun story is that I am losing money when my customers order for less than €20 on my website.
