3.22.17 Subway Contagion
The guy who makes the subway announcements just told the entire train that courtesy is contagious — kinda like the flu.
It makes you think…
Can you catch courtesy? Does it jump from person to person, make them do nice things, and leave them feeling warm and gooey on the inside?
Does courtesy spread really quickly, making its way from subway car to subway car, and then die out all at once?
Or does it play the long game, like a parasite, and wait until you get home to rear its polite head?
After you get it once, can it lay dormant in your body, waiting for some outside act of courtesy to bring it back up to the surface?
Maybe every act of courtesy we see is a relapse…just like that sinus infection that you just can’t shake.
