For All the Souls

All Hallows Eve vs. everyone’s blood sugar…

For those of us in the Congregation of the Real World, holidays can be an adventure in ambivalence. That’s where Real/igion for the Rest of Us wants to help…

First: A Public Service Announcement

That Hallowe’en candy will not be as good as you remember. In fact, it will suck.

Trust me on this.

On All Hallows Eve — and throughout Allhallowtide, to All Saints Day, and All Souls day — everyone meets where the veil is thin between the worlds. It’s a universal gateway to the fall and winter season of holy days.

But if you accidentally ate some of that crappy candy, and you don’t know what to do about the person you lost this year, but you know that the grotesque licensed “costumes” piled up right next to the glittered, glaring red-and-green Christmas crap from China (already? really?) won’t help…

This poem provides a quick antidote:

“All Souls in Secret Saved”

But what is a “soul” anyhow?

Well, no one knows. But here’s what I have speculated, in a post I wrote for Publishous this time last year:

Your Soul is Born Each Morning
