Introducing Noteshelf AI

Noteshelf 3 welcomes the era of AI-assisted note-taking to help you take notes faster and better, understand new concepts more easily, and ask anything under the sun without leaving the app.

Our introductory feature set for Noteshelf AI can assist you with the following:

Generate Notes

Write a heading like “Recipe for Aglio Olio Pasta” on an empty page and tap the Generate Notes option on the AI popup. Noteshelf AI will generate about a page of notes, and you can choose to add it to your notes as a textbox or even as handwriting!

You can also lasso anything on the page, choose the AI option from the shortcut menu, and then generate notes relevant to your selection.

Each time you receive a response from Noteshelf AI, you get content that is automatically formatted.

Noteshelf AI generates these rich text responses with colorful headings, bullets, and numbers. This step simplifies the AI-generated content and makes it easier for you to understand complex topics in note-taking.

Note: Noteshelf AI will be able to understand your handwriting only if you are a Premium user.

Summarize and Explain

Let’s say you have imported a lengthy textbook page into Noteshelf and don’t have the time or mental energy to read and understand the contents. Simply tap on the Summarize option in the AI popup. The AI will generate a quick, easy-to-read summary of the whole page. It’s quite useful, isn’t it!

You can even select a complex word or paragraph on the page and ask Noteshelf AI to explain the selection in simple terms.

You can then add the AI-generated summaries and explanations to a new page for future reference.

Translate

The translate tool in Noteshelf AI provides a wide selection of languages to choose from, giving you the flexibility to translate your content into any language.

Choose text or handwriting from any language and use the Translate feature on the AI popup to change it to any other language.

Pro tip: If your preferred language is not listed, type the name of the language in the provided text box at the top. Try “Sanskrit” and see what you get!

Finally, you have the option to ask anything in the text box provided on the AI popup. Use this to generate study plans, recipes, the perfect party playlist, or literally anything you could think of — right inside Noteshelf 3!

Noteshelf AI is a feature of the app that relies on the ChatGPT API to perform various AI tasks for the user. It can be accessed from the toolbar inside the notebook or through shortcut menus when content on the notebook is selected. When the user invokes any of the Noteshelf AI functions, all the content on the current page is sent to the ChatGPT server for processing.
