Korean Drama TV Series: Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho (2010)

A gumiho is a creature from Korean myths and legends. Sometimes these creatures want to live as a human. There is a way for them to become human. But if you are a human, you should never betray them.

Where to Watch

An alternate title for this series is: Gumiho: Tale of the Fox’s Child.

It stars one of my favorite Korean actresses: Kim Yoo-jung. I call her the “Korean Shirley Temple” because she is a wonderful child actress who has grown up to play the roles of leading lady in many Korean dramas: modern and historical period dramas. She was 10 years old when starred in “Tamra Island” (2009). This was not her first acting role but it is the first series where she captured my attention. Even though she was a member of support cast, her acting was so impressive she turned me into a loyal fan. Since then I have followed her everywhere. A little bit of entertainment trivia: Kim Yoo-Jung’s roles in many of the Korean historical period dramas have earned her the name “Sageuk fairy”. In “Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho”, which aired on KBS2 from July 5 to August 24, 2010, she is a couple of months shy of her 11th birthday.
