Why There Should Be More Local Author Fairs

I would definitely attend them.

A few weeks ago, I attended an author fair at my local library.

Almost 30 local authors sat at their own tables, each with copies of their books at the ready. I didn’t know what to expect.

I asked somebody next to me at the front door:

“How does this work?”

They told me to visit each author like they were an employer at a career fair. But don’t just say hello.

They told me to talk with them, mingle, ask about their books and writing, and more.

I spent the night doing exactly that.
