As humans, we like to all think we’re writing machines.

Some of us may be but some of us can’t jump over that hurdle. Most of the time, it takes a lot out of us physically and mentally to keep writing and growing as a writer. It’s a long process.

But I don’t let it bother me.

One habit keeps me motivated to write even on days I don’t want to anymore. It’s quite simple actually. Here’s what I do:

I Write a Little More Each Day

I don’t force myself to write dozens of pages a day or even thousands or words. Instead, I set myself a modest goal and attempt to reach it.

Sometimes, I do. Other times, I don’t.

Either way, I’m still sitting. Whatever it may be, I keep writing.

On days I grow tired or don’t know what to write next, I stop myself to breathe. I take a moment then do as I mentioned before: write a little more.
