This is the Day. For the first time in 4 years of OperaWire’s existence, neither scandals, news, nor stars are the cover story.
Today’s cover story is my critical column about European Culture Bailout 2021–2027 which discovers why the seven-year €2.8 billion package for European culture only sounds good for the Opera community.
Filled with very uncomfortable questions, this essay argues with the European committee basic understanding of what is art, and whom they are obliged to support.
