For the first time in its history, PANTONE has created a brand new color for the 2022 Color of the Year: PANTONE 17–3938 Very Peri, a vibrant periwinkle blue with violet red undertones.

“As we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of PANTONE 17–3938 Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue color family, encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time with its violet red undertone, PANTONE 17–3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages creativity and imaginative expressions.”
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.

After an intense period of isolation, our perspectives and landscapes have shifted dramatically. Boundaries between the physical and digital worlds are collapsing with technological advances in virtual reality, NFTs and the emerging metaverse. With the complexity of a blend of red violet with blue highlights, Very Peri is symbol of global transition. Very Peri asks us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, exploring a new vision and welcoming the changes before us. Very Peri emphasizes dynamism, creativity, imagination and places the future ahead in a new light.
