In order for you to be successful in anything in life, especially high school, you’re not only going to have to put in the time, you’re also going to have to put in the necessary effort.

Don’t be lazy. You’re going to have to put in the effort to accomplish what you need to do. Effort is the factor that makes all the difference in whether something gets done or not.

If you don’t put in the effort, nothing will get done. As a student, you need to be learning. You can’t learn just by sitting there mindlessly; you need to be actively learning. Learning requires participation and engagement. If you’re not putting in the effort, you can’t learn.

One important idea for you to understand is that your effort is under your control. It is arguably the most important factor that you have the most control over. You may not have chosen your hometown, how you grew up, family situation, or medical history, but you can control how much effort you put in yourself.

The more effort you put in, the more likely you are to finish tasks, overcome challenges, and accomplish your goals. How much effort you put in and the quality of it is dependent on you.

If you’re facing a difficult school project, you can give up, try, or do whatever it takes to get it done.

Procrastination is something that you’ll always battle. It’ll always be a part of life. As long as there are things to be done, there will be procrastination. Procrastination is something that you’ll need to manage and overcome throughout your life. You’ll be able to minimize it, but not eliminate it completely. I know that you’re young and sometimes get lazy, but it’s okay to take what I call “responsible breaks.” They’re short breaks that you take with the purpose of getting you back into focus. You take them as less as possible for a short amount of time. You take them only when necessary, especially if you’re feeling tired and losing concentration. Don’t procrastinate; get it done now.
