To Prevent or Eliminate Bad Breath for Good, It’s Not Just About Brushing
Most people don’t even realize this
Do you know that moment when somebody leans in to talk, and you instantly regret standing so close? Or worse — when you realize you might be the one with bad breath? It’s embarrassing, especially if you know regular brushing and mouthwash don’t seem to help.
You brush your teeth twice a day, maybe even three times. You floss when you remember. You rinse with mouthwash. And yet, your breath still stinks. What gives?
The problem is that bad breath isn’t just about your actual “breath”. It’s about your gums.
The Real Cause of Bad Breath
Many people assume bad breath is because of poor hygiene or eating something funky. But in reality, one of the biggest culprits is gum disease. When bacteria settle along the gumline, they create a breeding ground for plaque, inflammation, and infection.
This bacterial buildup leads to gingivitis (early gum disease) and can progress to periodontitis, a serious condition that causes receding gums and even tooth loss. I had periodontitis starting, and it was not fun having to get scaling and planing done at the dentist.
