Our mission is to support visionary builders in starting long-lasting and meaningful companies, with a bigger mission of positively impacting people’s lives. Today, we are happy to announce our latest investment, through our investment arm Catalisi, in Hale, a Berlin-based health-tech startup.

Shared Vision for Impact:

A couple of months ago, we published our investment thesis on Health, considering the D2P model a new wave of innovation to solve many market (both public and private) failures. We are inspired by the emerging wave of health-tech companies that leverage digital innovation to personalize services and cater to people’s evolving lifestyles. In this regard, Hale’s commitment to using data to understand women’s health contexts and fill knowledge gaps is especially meaningful as it helps reduce the gender gap in pain research.

Empowering Women’s Health:

Hale’s founders, Gaia Salizzoni, and Vittoria Brolis, exemplify visionary builders who are not only driven entrepreneurs but also individuals who have personally experienced the challenges of living with chronic pain. Their determination has led to the creation of Hale, a digital clinic designed to bridge existing gaps in therapeutic care for female pelvic pain.

Pelvic pain is a significant health issue affecting 1 in 4 women regularly, often linked to conditions like endometriosis, vulvodynia, or a tense pelvic floor. Despite its prevalence, these conditions remain widely misunderstood, leading to a lack of proper diagnosis and treatment options. The consequences of untreated pelvic pain can be devastating, impacting women physically, mentally, and emotionally, affecting their work, relationships, and daily activities.

By empowering patients with evidence-based guidance and holistic care, Hale is transforming the landscape of women’s health.

A Bright Future Ahead:

With our investment in Hale’s talented team, we are excited to witness the transformative impact on women’s health across Italy and Europe. As Hale paves the way for evidence-based and accessible care, StartupGym’s vision of investing in ventures that make a difference comes to life.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Gaia Salizzoni, Vittoria Brolis, and the entire Hale team for their dedication to making a positive impact on women’s lives. Together, we look forward to witnessing Hale’s transformative journey in redefining therapeutic care for female pelvic pain.
