In this article, we will make a small update about our development status on NovaX SDK. Then we will be talking about the suggestions we received over the last 2 weeks.

NovaX SDK

We will be releasing our SDK on May 15, 2022. We will also release documentation for it. As we talked about previously, NovaX SDK is a JavaScript SDK. Developers will be able to develop a new UI by using this SDK without handling anything about the blockchain itself. SDK will be handling all the communication between the Avalanche c-chain and the client.
It will have methods like “retrivePlanets”, “getStructuresOfPlanet”, “levelUpStructure” etc. Developers will be able to simply call a JavaScript function to retrieve the data they seek, or to perform an action in the NovaX game.
After we release our SDK, any developer will be able to develop an alternate UI for NovaX. But we will be also outsourcing to develop a new UI for our web client. Game mechanics will remain the same, but we want to make a more entertaining UI for the game. We aim to make a better user experience for the game, better mobile compatibility, etc. The new UI won’t change any major game mechanics. Structure upgrades, harvesting resources, missions, boss fights, PvP mechanics will be the same. But since we will be redesigning the UI, we will be creating a better user experience ( For example, a more helpful control center for major planet holders, mission countdowns, boss fight auto-loot, etc)

Suggestions

We did receive 18 suggestions so far. We would like to respond to some of the most requested features in this article.

Planet Images

We did receive multiple suggestions for the planet images should be unique. Some of you, are asking for structures to be seen in the image.
First of all, we did disclose at the beginning of the project that this is not an NFT art collection. Images are only visual samples of planets, it does not have any effect on the game. Planets are becoming unique as you develop the building on them. This was our first design for the planets. Designing new images that are totally unique for 8888, will be unfair to the planet holders. Because some maybe planet holder that didn't upgrade his planet at all may receive a very rare image for his planet, on the other hand, a very royal NovaX player may receive a very common image for his planet. So we are not thinking to change entire planet images for new 8888 unique ones, because of this reason.
About showing planet upgrades in the image itself. As you know we have 8 different types of buildings so far. It is not possible to show all these buildings on the planet, also by showing the levels of these buildings, etc. It won’t be very understandable for other users to understand the buildings and levels of them by looking at your planet images. As you know we are returning the building's levels on our NFT metadata. So on any NFT marketplace, when users are looking at your planet NFT, they are seeing the buildings on them, the levels of those buildings, and so on.
So we won’t be changing the planet images. But if we release a new NFT collection we will definitely consider the suggestions you gave for the planets.

Gas Fees

We received a couple of suggestions about gas fees being high. Our smart contract developers are working on alternate solutions to reduce gas fees. Meanwhile, we suggest you send your transactions at times when the Avalanche C chain is not so busy. As you know Avalanche c-chain is an EVM, so when the network is busy gas fees increases.

Claim all functionality

Many users did ask about a claim for all functionality for the boss fights. We will be developing an auto-loot functionality for the boss fights. It’s in our development backlog. Once we have done that, you won't need to claim one by one all your planets.

Speed

There are several suggestions about the website should be faster for harvesting or leveling up buildings etc. We are an on-chain project. So once you upgrade a structure, it is sending a transaction to the c-chain via MetaMask. Once the web3 library / MetaMask confirms that the transaction is executed, the website shows the data immediately. So this process may take several seconds sometimes, since this is not in our control we can’t improve the speed for now.

Guides

We received several suggestions for creating guides for missions and boss fights. We will be creating a guide for missions and boss fights and put it on our website, so that new players will easily understand how those features work and participate easily.

New Collection

There were 3 suggestions about releasing a new NFT collection to spend for the team's costs. We don’t need any additional income as a team. Most of us also work in real-time jobs. So we are not thinking of releasing a new NFT collection with a mint cost.
We did release two nft collections (loots and troops) where players can mint by using in-game resource tokens.
But the feedback we receive in the suggestions is to release an NFT collection independent from the game. But we are not interested in developing an NFT collection separate from the game. Our focus is on the game only. We already have 3 NFT collections in the game (planets, troops, loots).

We don’t want to play but just earn

Around 40% of the suggestions we receive are asking for us to leave the game development, they point out that they are not interested in playing the game, missions, etc, just focus on increasing the resource token prices.
Well in order for resource tokens to increase, someone should buy those tokens. And for that to happen, there should be a use case for those tokens. Our main idea is to develop a game that consumes those resource tokens, so players may want to purchase resource tokens and use them in the game so that they will make a buy pressure, and resource prices may go up. But since users that only want to harvest and sell resource tokens (regardless of the situation of the game. Even if we develop an AAA game, some users are not interested in playing it) are larger compared to players that want to buy resource tokens and spend it in the game. That’s why resource token prices are staying low. But this is the project we designed and introduces. NovaX will always stay a game-focused project.
For the ones that are interested in investing only, we did mention a suggestion in our previous articles and social media channels, and that suggestion was:
Focus on developing your planets. Some users are purchasing multiple planets but not playing or upgrading at all. Instead of that, purchase only a single planet, buy resource tokens if you want from the Baguette exchange and upgrade your planet. This will cause way less money compared to owning multiple planets. Owning a single level 15 planet is way more logical than owning 30 level 1 planets. This way you will also help the tokenomics of the game.
For the users that are not interested in the game, we don’t advise you to invest in it for financial reasons. If you think that missions, boss fights, level upgrades, PvP battles, research, soldiers, and spaceships; won’t be played by many users. Then in that case resource tokens will probably stay low. This is the thing happening right now.
