A Year of Living Dangerously

Terri Cohn
Dec 20, 2017 · 1 min read

Pamela Merory Dernham’s work shifted direction in 2017 in response to ongoing post-election stress. The San Francisco artist’s new sculpture Fiddling While Rome Burns, recently shown at Vessel Gallery, reflects the difficulty of staying in balance while the country and the world are in perpetual turmoil. Over the past twenty years the artist has created wall mounted wire figure groups that explore the nature of human relationships.
