Dear New writers: Here is something interesting for you!
I have been using Medium for two years and started to write last year; even after being a newbie, my followers still want to hear me through my writings. In this article, I’m sharing some insights which will help you to gain popularity and in building your strong audience base from novice level.
The first and foremost thing you should do is to specify what niche you are going to enter but make it a bit broader at the beginning; like don’t write specifically on particular topics only, include some related genres; this will help you to be more clear of what actually you want to write about and at what areas of your work the readers are more interested. The second thing you need to do is to write every day, in the beginning your writings will not even reach to your reader community if you aren’t consistent enough, in order to make it possible you need to hit Medium’s algorithm daily. This will make your article appear at the top of the suggestion and also people will come to know about you.
Before focusing solely on increasing your followers number, you need to increase the number of articles you’ve published; your articles are like a source through which you’ll get more views and more people are going to know about you.
When you have successfully developed your audience, you need to introduce yourself as a niche-specific writer and then you’ll find your writing tribe and reader base.
Also, don’t be afraid to use various tools and writing aids, of course you can stop using it when your writing skills will become even finer. But initially you need to learn how to write Headlines, SEO (Search engine-optimized) optimized wordings, grammatically correct sentences etc. For that I’ve already shared some tools through which you can write excellent articles and also will learn how to write it yourself. Do check this out!
If you are confused about what to write and what are some of the popular topics to start with, I’ve shared some topics and prompts which will help you to get some clues. If you like to hear that, do check it out!
I hope you find it valuable!
