What Happened at COP28?
COP28 has just concluded in Dubai and a number of exciting new developments have come from this year’s iteration of the annual event. NoviqTech was in attendance at the event and was able to witness many of the trends emerging in the sustainability sector globally.
Here’s our top three takeaways from COP28:
Regulation
Climate policies are shifting towards more aggressive climate action. Countries are focusing heavily on renewable energy projects and sustainable practices which are increasing overall wellbeing for their citizens and positively impacting the climate.
Innovation
Companies across the globe are continuing to bring innovative new hardware technologies to play in the sustainability sector. From more efficient solar PVs to emerging energy sources such as geothermal, an emphasis is being placed on innovation in sustainability.
Education
A number of panels focused on ways to better educate the public about new technologies being developed to help mitigate the impact of climate change and to reduce global warming to meet the Paris agreement target.
At the event, NoviqTech CEO, Freddy, had the opportunity to network with global leaders from both the public and private sector to demonstrate the capabilities of our new Carbon Central platform. The benefits of Carbon Central became apparent to many leaders who are now interested in pursuing a variety of projects from forestry through to renewable energy.
NoviqTech was able to play a role in discussions on how tools such as Carbon Central will play a pivotal role in the future of decarbonisation by allowing companies to accurately track and report on their carbon emissions, all in real-time.
Discussions focusing on the role of AI in decarbonisation also highlighted the benefits of a tool such as Carbon Central as it is built from the ground up to support AI integration, providing additional reporting and monitoring capabilities to customers which are not available through current technologies.
Overall, COP28 was a fantastic event with many great learnings, takeaways, and business development opportunities. NoviqTech was put on the world stage and was able to showcase its ability to supports companies and nations across the globe as they focus on the road to net-zero.
