It is quite important that we give back to the community at some point. We are kickstarting a program which we ran the pilot last year. Some lessons were picked along the line which we have improved upon.

Oh, and the NP means Nondeterministic Polynomial.

What is this community about?

NP-Core is a budding community of people interested in Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence as a whole.

Currently, the focus is on algorithms. We strive to take pride in understanding the fundamentals and the basic building blocks because we know these are the differentiators in the long run.

We are just starting and we are accepting applications from interested participants for 2018 Batch-A.

How does the community work?

We intend running 3 batches of membership training in 2018. Each batch accepts up to 5 members who will pass through a 10-week training before becoming full members.

It’s not a hard rule but we want to ensure all members attain a level of knowledge with respect to some fundamentals.

We have a long term goal of working with the members to introduce ourselves to the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Who are some members of this community?

Some of the members are Otaru Babatunde, Jubril Edu, Perfect Makanju, Mayowa Tudonu, Ekundayo Blessing Funminiyi, Taiwo Azeez, Timilehin Ogunyemi, Oluwaleke Fakorede hashCode and David Asamu.

We have some other people behind the scenes(mentors and friends) ensuring we build something great with this community and we are pretty excited about this journey.

What to expect?

  • A 10-week immersive training on algorithms.
  • Discussion with the community. This is crucial since we are all constantly learning. We are looking forward to your insights about problems.
  • Opportunity to train other people which solidifies your own learning. Teaching they say improves mastery.

What we expect from you?

  • Be comfortable in a programming language. We don’t want to spend too much time on teaching syntax.
  • You’ve heard of algorithms before, even if it was on radio or in a Danfo :)
