npm and WASM: How can we help?

Continuing the theme of WebAssembly news, last month the folks at WebAssembly SF posted a video featuring Laurie Voss, Chief Data Officer, speaking at their February event. His topic that evening was npm and WASM: how can we help? We made FinTech Innovation Lab’s Class of 2019

Yesterday, FinTech Innovation Labs, in partnership with Accenture and the Partnership Fund for New York City, announced their selection of 11 emerging technology companies to participate in this year’s FinTech Innovation Lab. npm will join other companies, like CloudFrame and Cyberwrite, in receiving mentorship from FinTech Innovation Lab’s partners, as well as product feedback and use case development.

npm Security suggests: Electronegativity

Looking for a way to identify misconfigurations and security anti-patterns in Electron-based applications? Meet Electronegativity, created by the folks at Doyensec. Electronegativity detects and mitigates potential weaknesses and implementation bugs when developing applications using Electron. This tool, from a team we trust, is definitely worth your time.

What we’re reading: Announcing Lucet!

More great news for WebAssembly! Last week, Fastly announced the open sourcing of Lucet, Fastly’s native WebAssembly compiler and runtime. Lucet already supports the WebAssembly System Interface (WASI) and has been successfully shipping in the four major browsers since early 2017.
