Hello npm@6.13.6!

We shipped two releases last week: v6.13.5 and v6.13.6. 😀

You can get the latest release in the usual ways:

npm i -g npm@latestReview the details here.

Wombat Pride

As you may have seen, reports have been coming through telling of how (normally territorial) wombats have been not only allowing animals to take shelter in their burrows from the horrifying bush fires in Australia, but also actually herding them into their burrows for protection.

The npm organization and staff are pulling together a donation to Sleepy Burrows, a wombat sanctuary that works day and night to protect our beloved wombats. Learn how you can help, and spread the word! Thank you for your consideration and generosity. ❤️

Node.js meetup — Belo Horizonte, Brazil

npm’s Open Source developer, Ruy Adorno, will be presenting, “What’s new with npm + command-line intro” at the upcoming Node.js meetup in Brazil on Tuesday, January 28. Get all the details and RSVP here.

Wombat Dressing Room, an npm publication proxy on GCP

Previous employee and forever wombat, Ben Coe, had some exciting news to share last week: the service their team at Google uses for managing npm publications in large organizations has been open-sourced! Check out Ben’s blog post to learn more.

Open RFC Meetings — join the conversation

Mark your calendar for our next meeting: Wednesday, January 22 at 11am PT/2pm ET. Add your topics to be considered for discussion (agenda and meeting details will be shared here soon as well).

You can access the recordings and notes from previous meetings here.

Recommended project: 30 seconds of code

30 seconds of code is a website that provides short code snippets for all your development needs. All of the content is community-curated, and the development team uses npm daily as part of their workflow, allowing them to parse data files, setup their pipelines and even render the whole website using Gatsby. Thank you to Angelos Chalaris for sharing this project!

Are you using npm to build something cool? Let us know and we’ll help get the word out!
