npm gives Mapbox the right direction

In our second Customer Conversation, we feature Karen Shea of Mapbox to talk about how the open source mapping platform uses npm. Mapbox, like npm, really embraces the open source culture of sharing, and has since early on.

Now featuring npm 4 in Node.js

Yesterday the folks at the Node.js Foundation officially announced that Node.js has upgraded to npm version 4(more specifically, version 4.0.5). For more on the breaking changes (there aren’t many) and notable changes, read the details on the pull request.

Recommended module: cross-env

Looking for a script that lets you set an environment using unix style, and also have it work on Windows too? Take a look at cross-env, created by Kent C. Dodds. This mini library even has a companion Node.js program: env-cmd, for executing commands using an environment from an env file.
