IDEA: Northeastern’s Venture Accelerator

--

Every year at Northeastern, IDEA hosts a selection of the most exciting and innovative start-ups the Northeastern Community has to offer. From students interested in entrepreneurship, industry professionals to tech enthusiasts; everyone is welcome at NEXPO. We hope it will provide all guests the perfect platform, to not only explore interests and network but also to learn more about some of the things they feel passionate about.

As Northeastern’s Annual venture showcase is right around the corner; here is a glimpse of what you can expect to find at the event through the below preview of Electra, just one of the many ventures that will be at NEXPO.

Venture Spotlight: Electra.

What is Electra?
Electra Vehicles is an impressive venture comprised of a team of energy storage experts. Electra designs solutions for the next generation of battery systems for electric vehicles and the grid. Their technology enables effective use of hybrid energy storage systems, combining the best high-power and high-energy batteries and ultracapacitors on the market today to increase system performance, reduce costs, and extend the overall system lifetime.
While hybrid energy storage systems have been documented in academic journals since the early 2000s, Electra’s optimized and intelligent power-splitting controls go beyond what previous companies and researchers have implemented. With this tech, they aim to change the way automakers and grid designers approach energy storage system design.

One of Electra’s primary goals for NEXPO is to find a talented student for a spring internship, so if their project interests you, make sure stop by and learn more in person!

Come join in on November 16th from 6:30 pm — 9:00 pm in the new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex, ISEC.
