NUImpact Impact Report 2019–2020
What a year it has been for NUImpact: Northeastern’s Student-Led Impact Investing Fund and Initiative. As my time as President of this amazing organization comes to an end, it is my pleasure to present the 1st NUImpact Impact Report of 2019–2020.
This past year has been like none other — it has brought with it, its fair share of challenges, many successes, a lot of learnings, and some unforgettable memories.
We have accomplished a great deal this past year:
- We grew our leadership team from 19 to 53 members starting Fall 2019
- We got approval for our Fund Operating Rules
- We took on the challenge of putting on the 1st ever Northeastern University Sustainable Investing Summit (NU SIS 2019)
- We had our 1st Investment Committee Meetings at the end of Fall 2019
- We launched the NUImpact Vertical Series
- Our community showed amazing resilience as we continued our operations in the face of a global pandemic
- At the end of Spring 2020, the NUImpact Fund made its first investment in a Boston based social enterprise named: Eatwell
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our entire Advisory Board, Dean Raj Echambadi for providing motivation and support whenever needed, our founding team of members, our incredible alumni, our entire support network at Northeastern University — D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Mosaic, Northeastern Center for Entrepreneurship Education, Northeastern University School of Law, DMSB Student Leadership Council and the Intentional Endowments Network, all the speakers and sponsors, Izzy Spigel for taking lead and making the vision of this report a reality, Ethan Pidgeon for designing this so beautifully and lastly the NUImpact team of student leaders without whom none of what we did this year would be possible.
