2021 RECAP of Numbers Protocol
Wow, we can’t believe another year has gone by. 2021 has definitely been one of the most fruitful and eventful years here at Numbers!
With so many things (big and small) happening this year, it’s difficult to pick a single BEST moment. To make the decision easier, we think it best to narrow down some of the 2021 moments into categories. Let’s see.
BEST PRODUCT LAUNCH: NFT Search Engine Beta
2021 is definitely the year of NFT. NFTs are considered as a way for digital content to reclaim its value, however, without proper content authenticity, the NFT boom also creates a lot of issues such as NFT fraud and cross-network NFT thefts. Many NFT platforms, such as OpenSea, have an open minting policy meaning anyone can download an image, mint it as an NFT and sell it as their own. The value of NFTs comes from their apparent “scarcity”, “uniqueness” and “legitimacy”, however, if the issues from “anyone can mint NFT” persists, NFTs will inevitably become the next valueless asset.
The beta launch of NFT Search Engine came in November to ensure transparency and search-ability of digital content in a growing NFT space. If the NFT exists, NFT Search Engine will output a preview of the asset on the left and on the right the details of the NFT. Details include Token ID, Contract ID, Creator ID, Current Owner ID, and Marketplace links. The information is available because of the transparency of the blockchain. There are more than 4K NFTs searched in the first 24 hours after launch which showed strong demands of the search engine. By 30th Dec 2021, the search engine supports 18M NFT tokens from Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and ThunderCore.
BEST AIRDROP: CAPTURE APP Christmas Campaign
Since the launch of Capture APP earlier this year, we have had quite a few campaigns to encourage the community to experience creating and registering authentic photos to the Numbers Protocol Network, but none of them are quite as magical as the Christmas Capture APP campaign.
Something about the holidays and the Christmas Spirit makes it extra special. Having users spread cheer in the form of sending PostCaptures to friends and family is an intimate way of experiencing what owning a truly valuable and unique digital asset is like in the Numbers Network.
Numbers also joined in on the fun by playing Santa by giving participating community members a little $NUM Airdrop gift as well. There were a total of 16,640 Capture gift cards minted. Overall, it was a great event. We especially loved the community’s enthusiasm and eagerness to join.
BEST NFT DROP: Van Ness Wu Charity Campaign
Amidst the early 2021 NFT boom, we launched our own NFT marketplace CaptureClub. True to our ideals, we positioned CaptureClub as an NFT marketplace that prioritized the authenticity of the assets themselves leveraging our Capture, Seal, Trace protocol that is the foundation of the Numbers Protocol network.
Though CaptureClub’s appeal is its accessibility and the integrity of the content itself, we were very excited to host Taiwanese Singer and Actor Van Ness Wu’s NFT drop on our platform and showcase our multi-layered authenticity solution.
The drop was an homage to his supporters and the proceeds were given to charity. After the campaign finished, 1M TWD (approximately 36,364 USD) was donated to support children at the Family of Joy Foundation. Overall it was a great and fruitful collaboration that taught us a lot about the different ways to issue a successful NFT drop.
BEST PUBLIC SALE: NUM SHO on Daomaker
Probably the most anticipated event for us and our community this year was our SHO on Daomaker in early November. SHO on DAO Maker marked the beginnings of $NUM and the official launch of our Numbers Protocol Network.
The event was a culmination of years of work, research, and successful use cases that led us to believe that there was a pressing need for digital asset authenticity. It signified our partnership with the community to build our decentralized photo network, a notion reflected in our company name Numbers.
What made it more validating was how successful the SHO was. Over 25 million DAO was staked total, a record for the DAO Maker platform. Truly amazing and we feel extremely blessed!
BIGGEST MILESTONE: NOV 18th NUM Public Listing
Following a successful SHO on Daomaker, we made $NUM available on centralized (Gate.io & KuCoin) and decentralized (Pancake & Uniswap) exchanges.
To us, this is a big step because it gave our community a tangible way of investing and participating in our project and it gave our work more weight as we now have active stakeholders.
We were blown away by the community’s support and their enthusiasm for what we are doing. It also marked the beginnings of our developing NUM economy built on Network Actions and Capture-to-Earn and Verify-to-Earn models. Going into 2022, we hope to make $NUM more available to the community and further develop the $NUM ecosystem through partnerships with official partners and the community.
We are looking forward to it!
MOST INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY: AMA and Local Communities
One of the most rewarding things for a community-based project such as our own is seeing the growth of the community. Since our humble beginnings, we never would have imagined our project would reach so many regions and cover so many languages.
In 2021 we conducted 23 AMA in 7 languages and have created 16 local community channels. Capture APP also has usership in over 194 countries. We are extremely grateful to have such an enthusiastic community interested in our project and look forward to working hand in hand with them moving forward.
BEST PRODUCT INTEGRATION: FEATURED by Binance
It’s a highlight for many to have your technology be impactful enough to be integrated into an already established platform. The integration of Numbers technology into Binance Featured is one of the biggest product milestones we achieved this year.
Being able to help verify the authenticity of artwork and building trust around digital media, especially NFTs, aligns with our mission for putting trust back into digital media. Our Numbers logo appearing next to NFTs that pass three levels of verification scan (CID, Similar-Image, Community Verification) represents an added layer of trust previously not existent. We hope Binance Featured integration is the first of many integrations to come.

BEST PARTNERSHIP: NFTrade, Refineable, Hodooi, NFTb
Here at Numbers, we believe that the best way to impact digital media in the current web and in Web3.0 is to spread our technology through partnerships. In the later part of the year, we are fortunate enough to find partners that align with our vision of bringing trust into digital media. Partnerships with premier NFT marketplaces Refineable and NFTrade signal a movement towards digital asset integrity. Our partnerships with Hodooi and NFTb signal our commitment to the future of Web3.0 and the developing Metaverse. Digital media WILL be a big part of our futures and Numbers WILL play an integral role. Looking forward to it!
Reflecting on 2021 like that really makes you realize how much can be achieved in one year. If I had to choose the BEST moment of 2021 for Numbers, I would probably pick our public listing of $NUM on Nov 18th because of the effect it had on our community.
Here at Numbers we are firm believers in the power of community and the effect we can have when working together. $NUM helped us grow our community and allowed us to meet many enthusiastic individuals with great ideas. Looking forward to 2022 we are really excited at how the Numbers project will grow hand in hand with the community ❤
