Numbers Protocol Partner with AIPLUX to Bring IP Protection to Web 3.0
We’re glad to announce our partnership with AIPLUX, the global IP protection platform which provides registration for trademarks, patents, and copyright.
The future of Web 3.0 is exciting, but only when intellectual property ownership, content ownership, license, along with copyright protection can be applied, users can really feel safe surfing in the Metaverse.
Numbers Protocol is glad to announce our partnership with AIPLUX, the global IP protection platform which provides registration for trademarks, patents, and copyright. This partnership is going to bring IP protection to Web 3.0 and enhance content authenticity further.
As NFTs become more and more popular, there comes the increasing thefts in the NFT market as well. In the previous article, we have shared how our Asset Monitor/Scan/Verify services help HTC Vive Art to detect unauthorized NFTs of Mucha artwork. The system successfully reported potential copyright infringement of Mucha’s work.
There was at least 1 item found by Asset Monitor, 7 items detected by Asset Scan, and dozens of suspicious reports by the community. All items were reported to the NFT marketplace and the party that represents the rights of copyright.
Well, Web 3.0 technology is great in assuring the uniqueness of digital content and finding duplicate items which may potentially violate copyright. However, “What can I do after a potential theft is detected?” is still a common question asked by the creators and the customers we work with. As the nature of blockchain is open and immutable, it is not possible to take down these NFTs. But, there is still a lot we can do.
In the traditional content industry, there is a clear definition of intellectual property ownership, content ownership, license, and copyright protection. The system has run for years to help many creators protect their work and keep the innovation happening. The long-running system, however, hit its limitation in the digital era because the cost of copy-and-paste was too low. This is where Numbers Protocol can play a role to help.
With this partnership with AIPLUX, Capture App users can apply for the IP registration for their photos with one click. By doing this, users are going to have both Web 3.0 registration and the traditional IP registration for their assets. NUN will be used as the primary payment method to run the registration so that it may provide a seamless experience to users who are already familiar with Numbers applications.
For users from AIPLUX, they may also apply for the Web 3.0 registration from the AIPLUX platform to create unique and immutable on-chain records for their trademark and IP assets. As there are normally multiple assets attached to one trademark or IP application, a traceable QR code to find all records with an authenticity certification will be attached to the application documents
Alfred Wu, CEO and Founder of AIPLUX, said,
“The society is embracing digital assets so fast that the idea of “ownerships” is being challenged. AIPLUX looks forward to working with Numbers Protocol on making the originality can easily be protected and verified.”
