We are incredibly excited and proud to announce Numbers Protocol has been selected amongst 1 of the 30 most promising women-led startups for 2022!

The current buzzword in tech is gender diversity, but is it all talk and social media hashtags? Last year we hit a five year low of less than 2% of venture capital funding going to all-women founding teams in the US. With only 14% of new global unicorns being founded or co-founded by women and 1/26 women-led unicorns in France.

Even though these trending topics are not yet being translated into positive action, inequalities are even more pronounced when the founders are from diverse backgrounds. Despite this, the number of women entrepreneurs continues to grow. The responsibility, therefore, lies with the VC industry to act and the tech ecosystem to promote underrepresented female founders.

To close the gender gap in funding VivaTech and 50intech have joined forces for the 4th year in a row to launch the Female Founder Challenge. The Female Founder Challenge is one of VivaTech’s biggest awards ceremonies where they crown the most inspirational women-led tech company during VivaTech (June 15–18).

This challenge was launched with two main objectives:

  1. Facilitate VC-startup meetings to accelerate the financing of women-led startups all around the world.
  2. Urge VC funds to commit to more gender equality at all levels.

After receiving over 500 applications we were very humbled to be narrowed down to the last 30. We will now be invited to a bootcamp session on May 4th led by 50intech along with every other participant of the challenge, where they will then announce the top 5 finalists that will be invited to pitch on stage at VivaTech between 15th-18th June.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated with our progress!
