Numerai recently unveiled Erasure Bay to the world. Built on the Erasure protocol, Erasure Bay is a knowledge marketplace where anyone can request, well, anything that can be delivered as a digital file.

Setting up your accounts for Erasure Bay

To start making and fulfilling requests on Erasure Bay, you’ll need two things: a Twitter account and an Authereum address.

  1. Log into or create a Twitter account:
from Twitter.com

2. Log into or create an Authereum account:

authereum.com/signup

3. Now visit the Erasure Bay website and click on one of the “Sign In” buttons:

erasurebay.org

4. When the dialog box pops up, click “Sign In” again to connect your accounts:

5. And then connect to Authereum. Your browser should populate all fields with the Authereum account you just created or logged into (as long as you still have a live session, otherwise try refreshing your Authereum page).

After connecting your Authereum account, you’ll be prompted to connect your Twitter account. Clicking “Authorize app” will redirect you to Erasure Bay, confirming your accounts have been connected.

Add DAI to your account using your favorite / preferred method, and you’re ready to start summoning intelligence out of thin air.

Make your first request

With your accounts connected (make sure you’re signed in), now you can make a request.

From erasurebay.org:

Erasure Bay request form

Put your request in the description field within the purple box. This can be any kind of file: a csv of a baseball player’s career performance, ten gigabytes of dog pictures, the answer to a Stack Overflow question, etc.

Fill out the four additional fields:

Reward: How much you will pay the user who successfully fulfills your request.

Req. Stake: How much a user needs to stake to submit their file.

Punish Ratio: How much it costs you per dollar to burn a bad submission’s stake. (For example, if someone stakes $10 on a bad submission, if your ratio is .5, it will cost you $5 to destroy their stake as punishment for a bad submission).

Punish Period: How long after fulfillment you have to punish a bad actor.

After completing the form, click “Make Request” and follow the prompts to confirm the details in your request.

After the request is made, check out Erasure Bay on Twitter to see your request and hunt down others that you can fulfill.
