According to Wikipedia, figs are one of the highest plant sources of calcium and fiber. Dried figs are richest in fiber, copper, manganese, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and vitamin K, relative to human needs. They have smaller amounts of many other nutrients. Figs have a laxative effect and contain many antioxidants.
3. In the beginning, God did not intend for man to eat meat. It is important that we eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. There is one fruit mentioned in the Bible more than once, and that fruit is a fig.
Biblical
The fig signified security and hope for Adam and Eve. (Gen.3:7) And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. Also there was a King sick unto death named Hezekiah (2 Kings 20). God added fifteen years to his life. (v.7) And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered. Jesus pronounced a curse on a fig tree because of it’s lack of fruit(Mark 11:12–14).
