It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Numio and the end of app development. We will be keeping the app running for a period of time to allow people to secure their assets, after which time the app will no longer be supported.

Why is Numio Closing?

When we first launched Numio in 2020 we became the first mobile wallet to natively support zkRollups and the first mobile wallet on zkSync. We also were one of the first wallets to enable trading natively on zkSync, and the first wallet to enable you to mint NFTs directly on zkSync.

We built a DeFi dashboard where you can put your money to work, and start to generate yield on your capital using Aave — in the future you would have been able to take out loans, and repay them all in one interface.

Unfortunately, some things just don’t work out according to plan and we have been unable to successfully raise the funding needed to carry on.

What this means for you

Numio is proudly non-custodial and so the securing of your assets will require each user to follow a few steps. This can be done by withdrawing funds to another wallet or by obtaining your private key from the settings page.

This tutorial shows you how to send your funds from the Numio wallet to an outside account: https://docs.numio.one/tutorials/token-transfers/send-to-an-external-wallet-on-numio-ethereum-address.

This tutorial explains how to obtain your private key in the settings page- always make sure to store this key securely, and offline: https://docs.numio.one/tutorials/account-settings/locating-your-private-key.

We have ensured that we have contingency to keep the wallet available for the next few months, giving everyone a chance to withdraw their funds. After that point (date TBC), we will be shutting down our services and you will be unable to interact with the Numio app.

Thank you

We want to thank all of our community members, team, and especially our previous investors who believed in us since the beginning, and all of our friends we have made along the way. We also want to thank the investors who committed to supporting us this year in our most recent fundraising round.

We welcome offers from companies who are interested in purchasing Numio’s IP, and who would like to continue building the future of wallets. We are more than happy to talk further about how our technology works, and how we can help set you up to build or integrate with it.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to support@numio.one, and we will be happy to assist you.

A Final Goodbye

Spending the past three years building and innovating on the cutting edge of Layer 2 Ethereum has been an honour and a privilege. The people and teams working on Ethereum and rollups are amazing, and the technology being developed is world changing, so good luck to everyone in the space, whatever you are working on.

That said, while Numio might be gone, many of the team members will still be working in Web3 and helping to continue to grow the ecosystem. See you around.
