Announcing the NuNet Earndrop Program
Greetings Singularitarians,
The vision of NuNet has always been for it to grow into a decentralized project driven by the community, and to that end we want to create a campaign that will incentivize platform usage and visibility. We are now launching the beginning of an initiative and the aspect of the platform that will work towards our goal of the real open source platform which is designed, built, and operated by the community in a decentralized way. We are calling this program the NuNet Earndrop Program.
What Is The Earndrop?
Put simply, members of the community will be given the opportunity to earn NTX by participating in the development of NuNet. Initially, NuNet will determine internally who is eligible for the earndrop. This will be done in the most transparent manner so that contributors know what they are rewarded for. Examples of those who may qualify for rewards include active community members, testers, Cardano stake pool operators (SPOs) involved in the Decentralized SPO Computing use-case, and others who complete tasks needed for the project.
NuNet Reputation Ecosystem and API
As explained in the NuNet Whitepaper, an integral part of NuNet platform is the reputation ecosystem, and the Earndrop Program is an important part in starting that ecosystem. Note, that we do not talk about ‘system’, but ‘ecosystem’. Fully developed NuNet platform will enable different reputation systems to operate concurrently in a decentralized system. This will be achieved via Reputation API, which will enable different reputation systems to interact with the information flowing within the network (Telemetry API, Device Management API, etc). The open API based reputation ecosystem will enable community developers to create and evolve different reputation mechanisms in maximally decentralized and democratic ways.
The Start
The Earndrop Program will rest on the first aspect of the reputation ecosystem of NuNet — the system for collecting information and credits for the activity on the platform. The first Earndrop will be conducted on the Cardano network, and will be for active participants who contribute to the growth of the platform. We have many ideas and plans to involve the Cardano community, which we will reveal at a future date, so stay tuned!
