Greetings Singularitarians,

Cardano’s eighth Catalyst funding round is quickly approaching. NuNet has submitted a new proposal that will help grow the capabilities of both our platform and the Cardano network. In this article, we will share the details of our Fund8 proposal. More information about Cardano’s Catalyst program can be found here.

NuNet’s Proposal

We know that as the Cardano network grows as a technology platform, there will be an increasing demand for artificial intelligence to be integrated into its applications. These machine learning algorithms require GPU processing power to operate, but this can lead to an over-reliance on centralized cloud computing services.

As a decentralized cloud computing platform, NuNet has the unique opportunity to provide this processing power to Cardano and preserve the decentralization of its network. However, integrating GPUs into NuNet’s architecture is no simple task, as it presents unique challenges not encountered in CPU computation.

If approved for funding, NuNet will implement this use-case in several phases. In the first phase, a one user per GPU model will be developed; this will work well for relatively simple tasks which can be completed by a single GPU. In subsequent phases, more complex models will be implemented such as GPU grid computing, job splitting, and clusters of virtual GPUs, to accommodate for tasks of increasing complexity.

The proposal is titled NuNet: Decentralized GPU ML Cloud, and can be found in the Developer Ecosystem category. Registration to vote in this Catalyst funding round ends on April 7th, and voting will begin April 14th. We hope the community will join us in ensuring this important proposal’s success.
