Greetings Singularitarians,

NuNet development is ramping up and the pieces are coming together as we near our goal to release Public Alpha this year. Several objectives were completed this past month, or are nearing completion, in the areas of the SPO and GPU use cases. Read on for the full progress notes.

FUND 7 Decentralized SPO Computing

Development of the Device Management Service is still ongoing.

CLI Interface for the Device Management Service along with Cardano deployment consent when onboarding a device to NuNet is done.

Support for accepting a request by a node operator for the deployment of a Cardano Node on NuNet is done.

While the separate components for the remote shell access through the p2p network, cardano vm builder and request receiver are all done, integration of these separate modules is still ongoing. Should be done in a week or two.

Security for Cardano vm (both protection of vm from the host and protection of host from vm) and filesystem encryption is still ongoing.

FUND 8 Decentralized GPU ML Cloud

Early August, we’ve worked on stability testing and also the ability to run ML jobs without allowing administrative access inside the environments they run in. In the past week, we’ve developed individual Dockerfiles that are intended to be generated per ML request and forwarded to Nomad as a job. We are currently working on creating the sequence diagram of our GPU ML use case. This includes prototyping and designing the ML on GPU web app, the service, and its API specifications. We are also comprehensively working on strengthening the security aspects of this use case.
