NuNet Development Updates April 2022

Greetings Singularitarians,

We appreciate your commitment and confidence in the platform, therefore we are here with an update. In the future release of private Alpha we will be integrating several security features which will make the platform secure and reliable for users. Following are the security updates:

Authentication and Identity Management
Having proper authentication and Identity management setup along with the ECLs to limit the unauthenticated and unauthorized access to the platform

Communication Encryption
Ensuring proper encryption mechanism using the modern encryption algorithms to avoid Man-in-the-Middle attacks, furthermore maintain the confidentiality and integrity of data in transit

Container's Security
Ensuring that no malicious images get part of the network as services, proper scrutinizing the services before making them part of the Network, hence protecting potential supply-chain attacks on the users

Authorization in Compute containers
Make sure the services deployed by the user on the compute resources (hardware machines) should have full and only access to the user, and all the data is encrypted so that even the Compute provider won't be able to see the data. Hence, facilitating the Confidentially and Integrity of data

Authorization in telemetry
Providing the Authorization in telemetry so that only the users can have the traces/logs of the request he initiated. Hence, protecting the privacy with regards to the use of applications of other users

Protection within NuNet infra to improve redundancy and robustness
Ensuring logging facilities and implementing the security policies/procedures and deploying security devices/software to secure the platform against any possible attack i.e. DOS. Hence, making the platform available for the public and improving redundancy and robustness

Protection against business logic
Implementing mechanisms to make sure that no one can tamper the contracts and payment services API's and other general API's. Ensuring non-repudiation of actions.

Crowd-sourced (Bug bounty) and internal security testing
Testing existing and new features for potential security vulnerabilities both internally and through a crowd-sourced bug bounty program (edited)
