Giovanna Navarro was born in Costa Rica and raised in Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Florida and Texas. She chose to pursue a nursing career after working in retirement homes and orphanages during high school in Costa Rica. Her bedside nursing career has spanned nearly 16 years at hospitals in Costa Rica and St. David’s Medical Center in Austin including Med/Surg, Telemetry, Neurology/Intermediate Care, Cath Lab, and the Electrophysiology Lab. She functioned as a clinical registered nurse, a preceptor, and a relief charge nurse during which she was recognized with the “Caregiver of the Year Award” in 2005 within the HCA Healthcare System. However, overtime she began to feel the effects of nursing burnout and in 2016 switched to a remote care management role.

Giovanna became a board certified nurse coach in 2019 to better support her patients in care management and along the way began to consult for companies like FitBit, Google, and digital health companies looking to integrate behavioral health coaching into their products. During this time Giovanna learned that she had an autoimmune disorder, which led her to the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza and Ken Honda. In 2021 she began her current role as Dr. Dispenza’s lead research nurse, where she conducts studies that investigate the mind and body connection.

After overcoming my own personal health issues and burnout I was convinced that the power to get to the root cause and truly heal is within each of us and not in our environment which is why I focus on each person’s physical, mental, emotional, and environmental strengths and help them remove the personal barriers to their healing process and conquer their obstacles in a simple way.

During the COVID pandemic, Giovanna began teaching workshops to nurses to better understand, prevent, and treat burnout. In her current role as a Research Nurse, HeartMath Trainer, NeuroChangeSolutions Consultant, and Holistic Nurse coach, Giovanna continues to provide on-site and online wellness programs and coaching services to healthcare professionals and leaders based on the latest evidence from neuroscience research, nursing knowledge, expertise, and intuition. She also recently achieved certifications from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) for biomedical research, as well as a HeartMath Interventions Certification for Health Professionals to help clients have a hands-on experience with emotional management skills to help with stress, anxiety, and many other mental and health conditions.
