Be a Better Exerciser…
Great exercisers are CONSISTENT.
Consistency is the KEY to seeing results.
I have the SECRET to being a consistent exerciser…it’s a technique I call:
Habit First, Effort Later
First get into the habit of just SHOWING UP. Don’t worry about sweating & killing yourself with EFFORT.
EXAMPLE of Habit First, Effort Later:
Yesterday I didn’t feel like exercising. So I told myself all you gotta do is SHOW UP. Meaning…just get exercise clothes on, go to the gym, walk the slowest mile of your life on the treadmill, and then leave. No sweat or effort necessary.
And guess what happened? Getting dressed and walking a slow mile didn’t seem so hard, so I was able to SHOW UP…and once I was on the treadmill I wanted to do much more than a slow mile.
BOTTOM LINE:
First create the HABIT of getting dressed & doing a “little” something.
Once you show up, most days you’ll want to put in more EFFORT than you thought. You’ll want to walk a little further/faster, lift a little heavier, or spin a little faster. Naturally.
PRO-TIP: A calendar can be a powerful tool to help w/ exercise consistency, too. Read about the power of the CALENDAR EFFECT >>HERE<<
