Hi, it’s Nuvilab.😁

Mobile World Congress (MWC), which was held in Barcelona, Spain, is considered the world’s largest mobile exhibition. Nuvilab participated in MWC through the 4YFN Startup Zone and SKT ESG Alliance booth at MWC 2023.

Our CTO, Jeyyoon and Ayden, who is in charge of global business development were the lucky stars to visit Barcelona. 🍀 Ayden’s hands-on experience of MWC 2023. Don’t miss out!

Q. Hello, Ayden. please introduce yourself!

  • Hi, I’m Hyunjong (Ayden) Lee. I’m in charge of global business development at Nuvilab. ✌

Q. You participated in the MWC! How was the atmosphere of the exhibition? Was there anything special about MWC?

  • It was quite different from CES, where we aimed to demonstrate our solution. MWC was open for a bigger audience, so a lot of people visited.
  • Unlike our booth at CES, where we demonstrated our technologies and solutions, and focused on how we are going to move on, at MWC we focused more on finding partnerships to see how technology exchanges and collaboration can actually be conducted.
  • We had a lot of discussion in terms of technology exchange. In addition to collaboration opportunities to advance our AI and vision technologies, many potential partnerships in various fields such as smart cities, menu composition, and recipe discovery that we have never considered before have been mentioned.

Q. We have introduced our solutions in Korea and the United States before. Since the exhibition was carried out in Spain, I wonder how the reaction was. Were there people wanting to adopt Nuvilab’s solution?🧐

  • We received a lot of positive responses from companies in the field of smart city, and it showed our potential in collaborating with such companies in the future.
  • Since Nuvilab deals with food and nutrient intake as well as food waste, we have received a lot of contacts from companies that develop healthcare solutions, and even companies developing in the field of food manufacture and delivery markets. In particular, solutions relating to diabetes have recently been in the spotlight, and companies in this field have shown a lot of interest.
  • We also saw a lot of potential for applying our solution to mobile devices. It was a very meaningful experience where we were able to identify the needs for transplanting into a mobile environment, which we were already working hard on.

Q. Nuvilab is currently working hard to enter the global markets in 2023. Did a lot of overseas companies visit our booth? We’re curious about your opinion on the possibility of Nuvilab expanding overseas. 😀

  • Global businesses such as Softbank and Nestle visited out booth various times. In terms of investment firms, there were several cases where they revisited our booth. The most memorable part was a Japanese employee from Softbank. He came with a huge pile of papers. He was interested in the field of AI, and listened to our explanation for about 20 minutes.
  • I can’t not talk about media. Our solution is very closely related to human life, and they are visually intuitive and the technology is easy to understand. Not only the Korean broadcasting station SBS, but also the Romanian CNN, Italian broadcasting, etc. reported about our solution. After getting to know about our solution, the Romanian CNN reporter literally said, “We can use it for health care as well as education!” and came to cover the next day with a camera. I felt rewarded for the long explanation I gave. Ha ha.
  • One of the big advantages of Nuvilab is that it can be applied to various fields, such as reducing food waste, managing eating habits, and streamlining the operation of cafeterias through our technology. A great deal of companies cam over to discuss about applying our original technology to their own businesses. These positive responses gave me the confidence in Nuvilab entering the global market. 😎

Q. I was actually worried that Nuvilab’s solution might not gain a lot of attention because the culture in Spain is really different from Korea. Glad to know that it gained positive responses! Then if Nuvilab’s solution is introduced overseas, I guess it might look different from the current service provided in Korea?

  • That’s right. We wil be able to collaborate in various fields such as food waste reduction solutions, tracking child nutrition to prevent malnutrition, hospitals, nursing homes, sports, healthcare, and delivery markets. I think the possibilities are endless. 🦾

Q. Please tell us how you felt participating in MWC.

  • It was a chance for us to see the possibilities for Nuvilab to expand overseas. Not just Europe and Spain, but various countries including North America, Saudi Arabia, and Japan.

Ayden gave us a vivid review of MWC. Since our CTO Jeyyoon, and Ayden from global business development visited, they were able to give us the most meaningful insights to Nuvilab! 🎉

Nuvilab is beginning to branch out overseas. Please give us your support 🫶
