A new script was added to the stable Flatpak repository: Pandora Radio. Sound Cloud got a new maintainer and was significantly improved. Sirius XM was adjusted to recent changes in its web interface. Finally, Nuvola Runtime received a few tweaks.

To install Nuvola, follow installation instructions at the Nuvola Apps Repository Index. To update Nuvola, run flatpak update --system && flatpak update --user in terminal (as a regular user, not root/sudo) or use a package manager which supports Flatpak (e.g., a recent GNOME Software application with the Flatpak plugin).

This blog post applies to the genuine flatpak builds of Nuvola. If you use a third-party build, contact your distributor to find out which features are available.

Nuvola Runtime 4.11.16

Changes since Nuvola Runtime 4.11.10:

  • The Chromium-based backend was updated to use Chromium 67.0.3396.62.
  • YouTube script 2.0.3 changed the home page to “https://www.youtube.com/music“. [GitHub ticket]
  • An incompatibility with the GNOME’s built-in media player applet in the notification area was fixed. [GitHub ticket]
  • The auto-play policy was changed not to require a user interaction prior to audio playback. The default policy caused issues in the Deezer script — the audio playback could not be started by Nuvola’s play action, e.g. from MPRIS applets. [GitHub ticket]

Pandora script 1.1

Maintainer: Jiří Janoušek • Flatpak packageSource code

This is a new script. Pandora Radio is a music streaming and automated music recommendation internet radio service powered by the Music Genome Project and available only in the United States. The service plays songs that have similar musical traits. The user then provides positive or negative feedback (as thumbs up or thumbs down) for songs chosen by the service, and the feedback is taken into account in the subsequent selection of other songs to play. • It switched to Chromium backend for music playback without Flash plugin.
  • The extraction of metadata was adjusted to recent changes in the web user interface.
  • The track progress bar and volume bar were integrated.

Sirius XM 1.5

Maintainer: Jiří Janoušek • Flatpak packageSource code

Changes since 1.4 (November 11th, 2017):

  • Switched to Chromium backend for audio playback without Flash plugin.
  • The volume slider was integrated.
  • The script was adapted to recent changes of the web interface. [GitHub ticket]
