Renew Your Mind

Towards the end of last year, I observed the behavior of someone who got saved two years ago, and it was contrary to the nature we have in Christ. I had to ask the Holy Spirit how he (the person) could be behave that way because I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. His response to me was “it’s because he has not renewed his mind”, and then I understood. It made so much sense.

Two weeks ago, I was listening to an episode of Christianese podcast, and one of the speakers said, “We’re saved in an instant, but sanctified over time”. In Romans 12:2, Paul says,

“stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of hoe you think. this will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.” (TPT)

Our flesh and spirit are constantly at war with each other and the one we feed dominates. As spiritual beings, we cannot afford to live our lives carnally because as Paul says, ‘to be carnally minded is death”. Always remember, whatever you feed grows.

There are a lot of ways to renew your mind as a Christian, but the most important ones are by giving yourself daily to the study of His Word and spending time in prayer.

You also need to guard/shield your heart from corrupt and unholy things because of how precious it is. Solomon says in Proverbs 4:23,

“So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” (TPT)

Till I come your way again next time, Love and Light!
