Who’s Still Open? Local Businesses Find Ways to Operate
Across the region, restaurants and companies reshape their businesses to deal with the quarantine order.

Gov. Roy Cooper’s order to close restaurants and bars for dine-in customers has caused problems for businesses in Northwest North Carolina. While the governor’s order was intended to help slow the spread of coronavirus, some companies had to shut down completely, while others were forced to lay off 90 percent of their workers. We’ll be highlighting individual companies through feature stories over the next few days and weeks, but this overall list provides an update on the current status of businesses and how you can support them.
BANNER ELK
Louisiana Purchase (828–898–5656) 397 Shawneehaw Ave.
The Purchase will offer curbside service for call-in orders on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 5:30 and 8 p.m. Please call the number listed above.
Stonewalls Restaurant (828–898–5550) 344 Shawneehaw Ave. S.
Stonewalls is temporarily closed.
Bayou Smokehouse (828–898–8952) 130 E. Main St.
Bayou will offer curbside and takeout for meals, beer and wine. They will be open daily from noon to 9 p.m.
Banner Elk Cafe & Lodge (828–898–4040) 324 Shawneehaw Ave. S.
The Lodge will offer a limited menu for curbside pickup and local delivery from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. They ask that you call the number listed above if possible to order.
Eat Crow (828–963–8228) 9872 NC Hwy 105 S.
Eat Crow will be closed until April 1.
BLOWING ROCK
Foggy Rock Eatery & Pub (828–295–7262) 8180 Valley Blvd
Foggy Rock will offer takeout and curbside service until further notice.
Storie Street Grille-Closed Until Further Notice
Bistro Roca (828–295–4008) 143 Wonderland Trail
Bistro Roca will offer curbside service, takeout or delivery. They ask people to call-in orders if possible.
BOONE
Lost Province (828–265–3506) 130 N. Depot St.
The restaurant will offer curbside take out through their website or by calling at the above number. They also plan to have delivery options available by next week and we’ll update this once those plans are finalized.
Booneshine (828–278–8006) 465 Industrial Park Dr.
Booneshine Brewing has a takeout service that includes the full food menu and packaged beverages. To place an order, you can call the tasting room at the number listed above. Until the quarantine order is lifted, Booneshine will only be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

SPARTA
Becca’s Backwoods Bean (336–372–7888) 21 N. Main St.
Becca’s will offer drive-thru and pickup options. You can text 336–200–1945 as well as calling in to place an order. Pricing will include tax to make it easy for anyone leaving cash at the door or those who are paying at the counter. If you choose not to approach the counter, you can leave your cash at the door in a little envelope and the employees will pick it up. Becca’s is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Betty’s Dollar Mart (336–372–4530) 235 N. Main St.
Betty’s will offer takeout meals Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 8 to 10 p.m.
Brown’s Cafe (336–372–2215) 24 U.S. Hwy 221
Brown’s will offer curbside pickup, gift certificates and takeout meals until further notice. They’re open Monday through Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Charlie’s Country Store-Closed Until Further Notice
Cheesesteak House (336–372–2695) 583 S. Main St.
The Cheesesteak House will offer curbside pickup, takeout and limited delivery until further notice, as well as gift cards for future use. They’re open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Crave (336–372–7283) 854 S. Main St.
Crave will offer free lunch for low-income students from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The restaurant also has limited delivery within five miles and pickup service at the drive-thru. They will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Muddy Creek Cafe- Closed Until Further Notice.

The restaurant will offer pickup and takeout options until further notice.
Horizon Bistro (336–372–7444) 38 S. Main St.
Pickup or delivery service runs from noon to 5 p.m., with a cutoff of 4 p.m. to place an order.
DOBSON
Central Cafe (336–356–2100) 304 N. Main St.
Central Cafe will offer take out, curbside pickup and delivery service until further notice. Delivery will be available for anyone within a 10-mile radius of the restaurant and there will be no delivery charge.
Coach’s (336–356–8022) 134 Twin Oaks Road
The restaurant will offer pickup or limited delivery. If you live within 10 miles of Coach’s and have an order of more than $30, the staff will deliver it to you.
Golden China (336–356–8022)
The restaurant will offer pickup and takeout options until further notice.
Harvest Grill (336–366–3590) 230 Cabernet Lane
The restaurant will offer call-ahead orders only with curbside service from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Diner will be open for takeout and curbside pickup orders until further notice.

The Circle L will offer pickup and takeout options until further notice.
LAUREL SPRINGS

The Copper Mine will offer curbside pickup and takeout options for Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Freeborne’s Eatery & Lodge (336–359–8008) 14300 NC-18 S.
Freeborne’s will offer curbside pickup and takeout options until further notice. They will be open Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
MORAVIAN FALLS
Moravian Falls Grill (336–838–5955) 2094 Moravian Falls Rd.
The Grill will offer takeout and curbside service until further notice.
NORTH WILKESBORO
The Dispensary (336–818–1152) 833 Main St.
The Dispensary will accept take out orders from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will also be a delivery option, with a minimum purchase of $25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. Wine can be delivered by the bottle and beer can be delivered in either growlers or bottles. Orders can only be placed currently though phone calls.
The Boro Bistro/6th & Main (336–903–1166) 210 6th St.
The Boro will offer curbside and delivery through 6th & Main. 6th & Main, meanwhile, will offer a special takeout/pre-order menu as well as their regular dinner options for delivery or pickup. They will also fill growlers and sell wine. You can order one of three ways: texting 336–978–7944, by calling the restaurant’s regular number listed above or by emailing 6thandmain@gmail.com.
Pepe’s Tacos (336–818–1625) 307 E. Main St.
Pepe’s will take carry out and delivery orders. There is no minimum purchase for carry out, but there will be a $40 minimum for delivery.
Dom Bakeries (336–990–9245) 908 D. Street.
The bakery will be open for drive-thru orders, take out and limited delivery. To handle no-contact delivery, which is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., people have to call the number above. You place your order and pay over the phone, with a $20 minimum requirement. There will also be a $5 delivery fee, to help cover costs. This is available for anyone within 10 miles of the bakery at 908 D. Street in North Wilkesboro. To avoid contact, the driver will leave the order by the door and then call you so you know it’s there.

Village Inn will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for to go orders only.

Harold’s will handle takeout orders from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

TJ’s will be open for take out only 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Since Main Street Coffee isn’t defined as a restaurant or bar, the company is not required to close the lobby. However, they are limiting the store to 10 people or less. They are also offering takeout and curbside service. Please call ahead if possible.

Aunt Bea’s will take call-in orders, as well as takeout and drive-thru until further notice.

All Sauced Up will offer takeout orders, as well as curbside service.

Stardust will start taking orders for delivery March 22. The company will also take growler and bottle orders with a drive-thru service every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

AOTL will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for carry out and curbside orders. The restaurant will also offer delivery service within 10 miles of their location, with a minimum purchase requirement of $25. To place an order, just call the number listed above.

Amalfi’s is taking to-go orders and will deliver to any businesses in Elkin. They’re open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m.

Starting on Friday, Angry Troll will offer curbside pickup 7 days a week, with lunch orders from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 9 p.m.

Skull Camp will deliver any orders of $25 or more to places in Elkin, Jonesville, Poplar Springs and State Road. You can also order carry out by calling in or going here.
