Combining blockchain and IoT, we presented Nxxtech`s private network, self-sovereign identity and distributed storage at Sigfox Connect Berlin. The conference`s agenda revolved around the management of IoT devices, highlighting the importance of secure communication in an ever more connected world.
1800 attendees, 150 booths, visionary keynotes, and many more ecosystem partners, Sigfox Connect proved IoT is really taking off big time. A two-day conference highlighted the latest innovations in technology and use case developments, all oriented towards fast convergence of technology into every day’s life.
In that aspect, Gerd Leonhard, futurist on the future of tech and humanity, emphasized the responsibility companies hold when it comes to digital ethics and users´ data management: “Data is the new oil, it is the currency of the world, the most important one. AI is the new electricity and the IoT is the new nervous system.”
And, we couldn’t agree more! What blockchain and IoT have in common is the assurance for effective use of data from ground-up with all lines of business, directly impacting on cost-reduction, convenience, and choice the customers crave. Gartner even predicts that: “Technology and thinking will shift to a point where the experience will connect people with hundreds of edge devices,” stating that by 2022, 70% of enterprises will already be experimenting with immersive technologies for consumers and enterprise use.

This is why we demonstrated the visitors at our booth how simple the process of creating and managing identity on the blockchain is, and how many new business venues IoT network on the blockchain may open that way, ” explains Nxxtech CTO Tomaz Furlan.
