Long time fan favorite, play-by-play announcer for the New York Mets, Gary Cohen’s contract with SNY is apparently set to expire at the close of 2016. This comes following a report Saturday by NY Daily News.

The actuality of Cohen’s departure from the Mets broadcasting team that includes former players Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling is unlikely to happen but the pen still needs to hit the paper on a new deal.

The report states that, “The sources said Cohen’s representatives and SNY execs have already discussed a new multi-year deal but nothing has been finalized.”

Cohen has held the position since 2005.
