Landmarks throughout New York go purple for Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month

Shades of purple will cast a cloak of local support during the month of June for Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month.

Buildings and landmarks across New York State will be lit purple at night to commemorate the month, including:

  • Oneida County Office Building in Utica from 6/1–6/30
  • Barclay Damon Tower in Syracuse from 6/2–6/30
  • Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County Rundel Memorial Building, 6/4–6/6
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport, 6/6
  • The Kosciuszko Bridge connecting Brooklyn and Queens, 6/6
  • One World Trade Center in Manhattan, 6/6
  • Empire State Building in Manhattan, 6/6
  • Helmsley Building in Manhattan, 6/6
  • Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park in Manhattan, 6/6
  • City Hall in Rochester, 6/6–6/7
  • Suffolk County H. Lee Dennison Office Building in Haupaggue from 6/11–6/15
  • Nassau County Theodore H. Roosevelt Office Building in Mineola from 6/11–6/15
  • National Grid building in Syracuse from 6/17–6/23
  • Glenn G. Bartle Library Tower at Binghamton University from 6/20–6/22
  • The Electric Tower in Buffalo, 6/22
  • Peace Bridge in Buffalo, 6/22
  • The American side of Niagara Falls, 6/22

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing public awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, available resources and how you can get involved to support the cause. The Alzheimer’s Association is asking everyone to come together this June to support Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month and to join the fight against Alzheimer’s.
