Hello, everyone. I hope you’re working hard to get a job but aren’t worried or tense about it. I am going to share my first ever article on Medium, and that’s my interview experience.

TRUST YOUR GUT

I know this is a very important opportunity in your life, but it’s not the only opportunity, so be happy.

In my opinion, the most important thing in getting a job is your confidence.

If you don’t have confidence, then you are going to fail, even if you have answered all the questions in the interview.

On the other hand, if you answered questions confidently, then you are going to be hired even if you missed a few questions.

Yeah, but why is confidence important?

After joining the company, most companies expect you to take ownership of your tasks and work. I mean, they give you the task and they expect you to do it one way or another. If you are confident enough, then you will say yes to them, but if you have self-doubt, then you will not do the same.

Yeah, but I don’t have confidence and I have doubted myself in entire life ?

The interviewer is going to judge you in just one hour and one hour is not enough to judge someone (my friends couldn’t get me in 4 years). So you can fake your confidence by doing the following things-

1. Ask for a response

Interviewer: How are you?

You : I’m good. What about you?

2.Be Loud

3. Always keep a smile on your face.

4. Don’t get confused and stand by whatever you know.

OK, let’s go to traditional content.

  1. FIRST ROUND

They have shortlisted 20 students from their resumes.

I didn’t have an impressive coding profile or project.

I had one web development project (which was hosted and inserted the live link) and two other projects, which I did as part of the course AI.

I had solved 500+ questions on Leetcode and was a specialist in Codeforces.

2. SECOND ROUND

It was a pure DSA round, and I answered 3 questions in 45 minutes. Try to be quick while answering the questions .

I don’t remember the actual questions, but the first one was based on string manipulation, and the second and third problems were Leetcode medium.

3.THIRD ROUND

It was based on low-level design. The interviewer asked me to design the parking lot system for cars, and when I completed my design, he asked me to extend it to two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

In this round, your oops concepts are tested.

One good thing about this round is that they don’t expect you to know the proper syntax, but they do expect your design to be flexible enough for further modification.

4. HR Round

This round is fun if you have a charming smile on your face and have a little knowledge about what the company does.

So in this round, the interviewer asked the usual HR questions (Why do you want to join our company?, Why this company and not Google? e.t.c.)

In some cases, they ask personal questions. In that case, only tell positive and inspiring stories. If you don’t have any, then just make something up (in my opinion everyone has a story, but some people fail to express it).

Your tonality matters more than words, so if you are nervous, then you have already failed this round.

Offer:

Finally I have got the offer to work in porter as Intern.

PREPARATION STRATEGY

I am planning to write another article for this but just discuss it briefly.

So the most important thing is to try to prepare in the group in that way it will not be boring. In my case, I have studied with my two friends Ankit and Abhinav and we learnt from each other a lot. While studying in the group, make sure that everyone is on almost the same level because a weaker person is always a blocker for you and in other case you will be a blocker for a brilliant one. For dsa, you can solve the interviewbit and give the weekly and biweekly contest on leetcode and you can refer gfg for subjects (OS, DBMS, OOP).
