Learning React as a UX Designer

A way to close the gap between Devs and Designers

I always loved to understand and to “talk” the same language as developers.

It makes me feel more confident on the communication itself, but also in how we work as a team. They can talk in a more natural way and I can understand it a bit easier.

On the other side, I can push the boundaries based on my own experience and knowledge, because I understand what we are talking about.

To accomplish that, during last two months I’ve learned a lot about React thank to a freelance project. There, I’ve been working close to @mcortesi5 and that was one of the best things that happened to me. He was a great teacher explaining me some React’s concepts.

This introduced me in a whole new world, because during the prior two years I was working specifically as a Product Designer and the technology on Front End side moves really fast.

After this amazing experience, I continued looking to improve my skills on React. Not to be a great developer, but to be a great UX Designer, understanding all the aspects of the product I’m working on.

For sure I have a lot more to learn, but this is just the first step toward my vision of being a great UX Designer.
