Taking Constructive Criticism Like a Champ

We can be proud of today’s modern world, which we made for our innate needs, then the greatest role in this is the journey of knowledge that has been going on for centuries.

The reason for the rise of this journey of knowledge is the criticism from which creation arises. Criticism is the only process that keeps the door open for reform and innovation. But in today’s modern age in which the world has become a global village, there is no more difference between criticism and insult. You can easily observe this situation when people discuss about politics or religion or even technology.

Over the past few years, extremism has eroded the identity of human values. The issue first started with newspapers and TV channels and it is now on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. No one is ready to listen to each other, just looking for a chance to insult the opponent. If you tell someone that you are insulting the next one, the answer will be no, I am criticizing.

We desperately need to learn how to criticize in our professional life, family and friends circle.

Listen carefully to your opponent before criticizing. Understand his or her ideas / ideology and thoughts with an unbiased mind. Be so unbiased that if you have to state the opinion of the opponent, he or she will also say that you have stated my point in a better way than me.

After understanding the opponent’s point of view well, politely state your case in front of him or her one by one. In this stage always try to make difference between criticism and insult. If opponent want to make any argument or want to defend his or her point of view, give him or her chance to speak during your time.

I think the beauty of this world is difference of opinion. Nowadays biggest challenge is that how we can handle social media and how we can teach ourselves and our new generation about that. Everyone needs to play his or her role for the better world in which we can criticise others with respect.
