Keeping up-to-date in the web design world, which is part of the digital universe, is very important for a web designer. Trends reflect the perceived aesthetic sense of time. A good web designer should follow trends and shape them with his knowledge to reflect his work. No designer wants to be labelled as old-fashioned.

1. Layouts

Regular uniform images and box form layouts are disappearing. Graphic and typographic elements are more displayed, and specific designs draw attention.

2. Asymmetric Usages

Asymmetric usages, destroyed the existing symmetry sensation. The symmetry of the Web world, which has become imperative, left its place in perfectly unstructured visuals with left-to-right and non-aligned components. Today, asymmetric usages are not a mistake; it is considered remarkable and entertaining.

3. Large and Thick Typographies

As said by Bill Gates "Content is king." Many years ago this promise proved its authenticity in recent years and created content marketing. The design world, however, was not indifferent to these developments, but turned its focal point into content. Now the web sites are heading towards large and thick fonts that support readability.

4. Modern Retro

Whether you prefer pixel art, combine colors of vintage 80's and vintage elements. Regardless of your style of practice, modern interpretations of popular old styles are attracting much attention when used in web design. Due to the positive effects on the users, many websites are doing modern retro touches on the design.

5. Less Stock Visuals, More Photos and Illustrations

Whenever we need it, the fashion of stock images running on our behalf has begun to pass by 2016. Quality and natural photos are more preferable for users. So much so that you will use one quality photo on your main page, more effective than the 5 stocks you will place on the slider. If you can not create the conditions for taking photos, you can also use illustrations on your website. It is enough to show the user as much specific work as possible.

6. Responsive Design

Since the desktop has lost its popularity, it is important that the designs are mobile-compatible. In responsive designs, the design elements comply with each user's screen. With the development of technology, designs can be made compatible not only with mobile phones, but also with intelligent watches, wristbands and glasses. For now, limiting responsiveness to concrete elements, responsive design can be improved enough to allow older people visiting a website in the future to have larger fonts and brighter colors. A successful web design should adapt to current usage habits.
