Demonstrating impact with St. Nicks Alliance and Change Capital Fund

Kate Dempsey, NYC Opportunity’s Director of Strategy and Operations, was a guest on New York Nonprofit Media’s NYN Media Insights podcast, talking about how nonprofits can demonstrate the impact of their work.

On the podcast, Dempsey discussed the importance of identifying “valuable thresholds” — such as being at a third-grade reading level by third grade or entering and completing college — and then developing the necessary data systems and evaluation processes for monitoring how many participants meet those benchmarks. She highlights lessons learned through the Change Capital Fund initiative, a collaborative of 17 donors that funds capacity building for community development corporations.
