The Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity (NYC Opportunity) is seeking candidates for design, data, research, policy, and technology roles to help develop and support programs and digital products that reduce poverty and advance opportunity for New York City residents.

Many of the open positions will support a new Ending the Poverty to Prison Pipeline initiative, which aims to disrupt the forces that cause many low-income New Yorkers to end up in the criminal justice system.

NYC Opportunity’s work focuses on improving systems of government by advancing the use of research, data, and design in program and policy development, service delivery, and budget decisions. It includes analyzing existing anti-poverty approaches, developing new strategies, facilitating the sharing of data across City agencies, and rigorously assessing the impact of key initiatives.

The positions we are now hiring for offer a great opportunity to put your skills to work improving the lives of millions of New Yorkers and helping to build a more equitable city — one in which where people start out in life does not determine where they end up.

Positions that are currently available include:

Data Team

Service Design Studio

Product Team

Programs and Evaluations Team

Technology

Poverty Research Unit
